March 2019 – What’s Happening in Puerto Rico?
March 2019 – Highlights for March include; The Festival Casals. The Ponce Carnival and Circo Fest to name a few.
March 2019 EVENTS:
Mar 4 – 16, Festival Casals
For music lovers, the renowned Festival Casals will be held at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce, San Juan. This years event will feature more than 30 artists and groups from Puerto Rico, Spain, Germany, France, Israel, and other countries participating.

Mar 1 – 5, Ponce Carnival
The annual Ponce Carnival (Carnaval Ponceño) takes place the week before Ash Wednesday and this year it will run from March 1 to 5 in and around Plaza Las Delicias in Ponce. The Carnaval Ponceño is one of the oldest carnivals in the western world and hugely popular here in Puerto Rico. The carnival includes parades of Vejigantes (masked characters), Crowning of the Queen and Princesses, a masked ball and ends with the traditional burial of the sardine.

Mar 7-17, Circo Fest 2019
Circo Fest returns to Puerto Rico from March 7-17. There will be workshops and presentations for the artistic community of Puerto Rico on March 7 & 8. The weekend of March 9 & 10 will see Circo Fest in Old San Juan where a 100 or so hundred local and international artists from Argentina, Italy, France, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Germany, and Hungary will perform. Circo Fest will then head out around the island the following week.

This year’s Taste of Run Festival will take place at the Bahia Urbana in Old San Juan, Rum, Food and Music are on the bill for this annual event.

Mar 11-14, Smokey the Bear’s 75th Birthday Art Exhibit, Palmer
The Portalito HUB in Palmer (near El Yunque) will be hosting an art exhibition celebrating Smokey the Bear’s 75th Birthday. The exhibition will include replicas of historic portraits by the artist Rudolph Wendelin
Mar 16, Mercado Taco, San Juan
The Anfiteatro Tito Puente in San Juan will be hosting the Mercado Taco, the largest Festival de Tacos y Margaritas in Puerto Rico. The event is a must for Taco and Margarita lovers

Mar 15-17, 34th Edition Corona Pro Surf Circuit, Rincon
Surfers and Surf loves will be descending on Dome Beach for the 34th Edition Corona Pro Surf Circuit for a weekend of surf, music, artisans and more
Mar 17, National Salsa Day, San Juan
Hiram Bithorn Stadium will once again host the annual National Salsa Day.
Mar 22-23, RAMAS Festival (Rincon Alternative Music, Art, Surf Festival), Rincon
A weekend of Alternative Music, Art and Surf will be happening at Playa Marias for the RAMAS Festival (Rincon Alternative Music, Art, Surf Festival)
