December 2019 – What’s Happening in Puerto Rico?
December 2019 -Christmas is in full swing here in Puerto Rico and will go on well into January :). The Coquito is flowing, the Christmas Lights are being turned on and there are a host of events happening throughout the month. Here are a few to get you excited about enjoying Puerto Rico at Christmas
As always there will be plenty of things to do around the island, especially on weekends so let’s see what’s happening this month.

Dec 5, Navitown Opens, Bahia Urbana, Odd San Juan
Bahia Urbana in Old San Juan transforms into a Christmas Wonderland, with children’s rides, Christmas displays and more. Watch out for the Three Kings also after December 25. Navitown will run until at least January 6, 2020
Dec 14-15, XXIII Feria de Artesanías de la Compañía de Turismo, Old San Juan
The 23rd Tourism Company Artisan Fair will be held along Paseo De La Princesa. This 2 day fair will feature around 200 artisans, showcasing and selling their work. This is a great opportunity to pick up some handcrafted gifts perfect for Christmas presents.
Dec 27-28, Festival de las Máscaras de Hatillo, Hatillo
The famous Mask Festival takes place on December 27-28 in Hatillo. There is a huge parade with people in traditional masks and costumes along with typical Christmas foods, music and more. This is a hugely popular event on the island, so expect large crowds.
Dec 31, New Years Eve
Celebrate New Years’ Eve in Puerto Rico. The majority of resorts, hotels, bars, and restaurants will be celebrating bringing in the New Year. Here are a few that have already been announced

Also happening in December 2019
Dec 14-15, Ponce Internacional De Paso Fino 2019, Ponce
The Auditorium Pachín Vicéns in Ponce will host the Ponce Internacional De Paso Fino event. This annual horse show will feature the Paso Fino horse breed in various competitions. Entrance fee is $40pp + taxes
Dec 14, San Juan Christmas Boat Parade, Old San Juan
The annual San Juan Boat Parade will take place around the San Juan Bay. Boats will be decorated with Christmas Lights and more and will circle the bay starting at around 6 pm.
Dec 11-12, Saborea Puerto Rico Winter Party, San Juan Marriott Resort
The San Juan Marriott Resort will host this year’s Saborea Puerto Rico Winter Party that will feature more than 15 restaurants and 10 drinking stations for foodies to enjoy.
Dec 21, National Coquito Day
Coquito is the traditional Christmas drink here in Puerto Rico and December 21 is been named National Coquito Day, so make sure you raise up your class and celebrate. Check out the Coquito Recipes here
