August 2017 – What’s Happening in Puerto Rico?

It’s August 2017 and summer might be coming to a close, the kids are heading back at school but the temperature is still hot, hot, hot. Event highlights for August include the Feria del Campo Puertorriqueño, Las 100 de la Parguera and Ink Masters Tattoo Expo.
As always there will be plenty of things to do around the island, especially on weekends so let’s see what’s happening this month.
Aug 17 – 20. Feria del Campo Puertorriqueño, Dorado
Annual fair organised by The Paso Fino Federation of Puerto Rico that will be held at the Agrotourism Park in Dorado. The 4 day event will include riding demonstrations, competitions, artisans, food kiosks, live entertainment and children’s activities.

Aug 13, Las 100 de la Parguera, Lajas
Annual mountain bike competition featuring top local and international riders. The race takes place in La Parguera, Lajas and the organizers are expecting around 1000 particpants…

Aug 25-26, Puerto Rico Ink Masters Tattoo Expo, San Juan
The Puerto Rico Puerto Rico Ink Masters Tattoo Expo returns to the Puerto Rico Convention Center, San Juan featuring local and international tattoo artists and more

Aug 6, Rincón Sunset Festival
Monthly festival that takes place in the Plaza de la Amistad de Rincón featuring live entertainment, food kiosks, children’s activities and more

August 12: UPR Late
The event takes place at the UPR Rios Piedras campus and will feature entertainment for the whole family including short films by UPR students, artisans and several local food trucks

August 25, Free Admission to Forts, Old San Juan
The National Parks Service will be celebrating thier 101st birthday and to celebrate entrance to El Morro and San Cristobal Forts will be free
