We were in town for two days before our cruise and found this to be a good location for the price we paid. beds were comfortable breakfast was fine enough. beach was only 5 minute walk away. first time in san juan and loved it. the main public beach was a 25 min walk.
The staff were really friendly, made us feel at home. Hotel is very clean, no frills and in a really good location about half-way between the airport and the cruise docks. It was an easy 75 cent bus ride to Old San Juan although finding a bus back was tough. Considering other hotels cost upwards of $600 per night, this was a pretty good bargain. Breakfast was very minimal but good enough considering the cost of the room. We also found this to be a very high-end area of the city with a beautiful park and lovely beach less than a block away.
A very well-placed little hotel with a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. we spend 10 days there over Christmas and had a lovely holiday. we had a top floor room overlooking the lagoon. all rooms have east or westside balconies, and from the higher floors there is great view of the cool condado area. It s also easy to walk or take a bus to old San Juan. The staff and the owners are great, very helpful and kind. we definitely recommend El Canario by the lagoon and will be back next year!
